This past week brought a whirlwind of art and creativity, with inspirational exhibitions set to carry us through till New Year.
At the Voskhod Gallery in Basel, Barcelona-based artist Anna Andrzhievskaia presented "Fundbüro Geist," an exhibition featuring dreamlike paintings and installations, portraying the emotions experienced when one has to leave one's country. The installation is infused with surrealistic elements and vibrant colour.
The 'Regionale', an annual tri-national exhibition celebrating its 25th anniversary, opened over the weekend featuring contemporary art from institutions in Germany, France, and Switzerland. I had the pleasure of attending opening evenings of the Kunsthaus Baselland and HEK, where I encountered a captivating array of works by numerous artists and engaged in enriching dialogues with members of the art community. Amidst the vibrant spectrum of exhibits, a stunning piece by Ulrich Okujeni, presented by PAW Gallery based in Germany, particularly stood out for me..
The Regionale exhibition continues until 5 January 2025. For more details, visit Regionale.
Lastly, I'd like to remind you of "Entanglement," a wonderful joint show running until the first week of January at the Anja Edith Brinckmann Gallery. Featuring the works of painter Dominique de Bellefroid and sculptor Barbara Schnetzler, this exhibition offers a harmonious blend of contrasting styles, evoking both inward and outward reflection of joy and hope. Keep watching this space for my exclusive interview with these two talented artists.
